I am a 40 year veteran of piano service and came across you site recently. I would like to possibly list as a player technician as I have reopened my rebuilding facility after a 7 year shutdown due to health reasons but am back in full swing. I trained on players in the 70's and have not made it a mainstay of my piano service but have always worked on them. I am presently in the process of restoring a Seeburg E 1926 nickelodeon and will be posting it's progress on my website. I am more interested in full restorations but will do some road service. Also - I am only basically familiar with electronic systems.
Rick Cooley Rick's Pianos 2523-C Lawrenceville Hwy Decatur, GA 30033 Home/Work Phone: 770-938-1056 E-Mail: Rpianos@gmail.com
I've been in the trade since 1972. I worked for Mauldin Pianos(retired), Inzer Pianos (now operated by Greg Seagraves), McCool Pianos (retired), Stone Mtn. Music Museum (Tommy Protsman, deceased and now closed) I've owned my own shop since 1988 in Decatur GA, (metro Atlanta). Through the middle 90's I specialized in player restoration, although since then I do mostly straight piano restoration. Except for cabinet refinishing, all work is done by me, I'm known for excellent historically correct restoration and rebuilding. I don't advertise my player work but do a bit for old contacts, as you know its very time consuming and rather messy at times. I've done many AMPICO As & Bs, Duo Arts, Weltes, many pumpers of all types, and many coin ops (no organ). I don't consider my shop a player shop but am happy to be listed as a resource. I think my old friend Greg Seagraves and I are the only old shop trained player guys left in metro Atlanta. I appreciate your interest and applaud you (Player-Care) and the player digest (MMDigest) for your work.

Since "Player-Care" is an internet business, I prefer that we correspond via E-Mail (click here to fill out the 'Request Form'). However, if I'm not in the middle of some other activity, you can reach me at 732-840-8787. But please understand that during the hours from 8AM-5PM EST (Mon-Sat), I'm generally quite busy. So, I probably won't answer the phone. If you get the answering machine, please leave a detailed message stating the reason for your call. Also, repeat your name and phone number clearly and distinctly. By necessity, I prioritize everything in my life. And, if you call and just leave your name and number, and ask me to call you back, it might be a day or two before I return your call. Why? Because I don't know why you want me to call and I might not be prepared to assist you in an effective and efficient manner. If you leave me an E-Mail address (which I prefer), spell it out phonetically. The more you do to help me, the more I can help you in return. Don't rush. You have four minutes to record your message. |
