This part had a number of problems. As the diagram below illustrates, the assembly serves a few basic functions; supplying vacuum for the stack, the automatic roll tracking device, the automatic sustain pedal, and cooling for the electric roll drive motor. Basically speaking, all but one of the small plastic nipples on the outside and the inside of the device had broken off. And, basically speaking, all of them were replaced with brass nipples. In one instance, it proved necessary to replace one of the connectors with a brass elbow instead of a brass nipple. More on that later.
