Ampico A Pump Spill Valve and Crescendo Spring

Ampico A Pump Spill Valve Springs

"Ampico A Pump Spill Valve Springs" are now available at Player-Care. Made from high quality spring steel. They are specifically designed and fabricated to replace the often over-stretched springs found in virtually all Ampico A rotary vacuum pumps and crescendo devices. After years of testing, it was found that the non-linearity of most Ampico expression systems was directly related to the non-linearity of the pump spring. To view a video of how the amplified and crescendo work together, click here. Cost: $11.00 each for the "A" springs (two required). The "A" spring should also be used to replace the often over-stretched Ampico "A" crescendo spring (two required). To place an order, Click Here.

Ampico Transmission Frame

Aluminum Ampico Transmission Frame

"Ampico Transmission Frames" are now available at Player-Care. This is the frame that is found in every Ampico A reproducing player piano. The frame is made of 6061 aluminum. When putting the small shaft in, make sure all parts are on the shaft, and support transmission on wooden block when driving shaft into the small gear. Also, in most cases you will have to drill new mounting holes or plug the old holes and drill new holes before securing the frame in place. That's because the exact position of the mounting holes in the original frames varied over time. In fact, the only thing that didn't vary was the spacing between the two main shafts and the majority of the frame's inside dimensions.

Since "Player-Care" is an internet business, I prefer that we correspond via E-Mail (click here to fill out the 'Request Form'). However, if I'm not in the middle of some other activity, you can reach me at 732-840-8787. But please understand that during the hours from 8AM-5PM EST (Mon-Sat), I'm generally quite busy. So, I probably won't answer the phone. If you get the answering machine, please leave a detailed message stating the reason for your call. Also, repeat your name and phone number clearly and distinctly. By necessity, I prioritize everything in my life. And, if you call and just leave your name and number, and ask me to call you back, it might be a day or two before I return your call. Why? Because I don't know why you want me to call and I might not be prepared to assist you in an effective and efficient manner. If you leave me an E-Mail address (which I prefer), spell it out phonetically. The more you do to help me, the more I can help you in return. Don't rush. You have four minutes to record your message.
