Penumbra Music -- Copyright Issues This work is copyright 1995 by me, George Bogatko, gbogatko@intac.com. I want to grant you certain rights with regard to this composition, but you will have to agree to some things in return. This work is not in the public domain. Here are the rights I'm granting to you: 1. You are granted the right to make individual (not bulk) disk copies of the MIDI representation of the composition to give (not sell) to your friends. In fact, you are encouraged to do so. This includes the right to post the MIDI file, or a pointer to it on another BBS, WEB or FTP archive. 2. You are granted the right to play the MIDI file in public, but only if nobody is going to make any money from the performance. Specifically, no right is granted to play or perform this piece in any forum that earns money either for you or for your employer or agent directly or indirectly. EXAMPLE: If you are a commercial dealer in MIDI instruments, you can't use it as a demonstration, because that would be generating income for you or your employer. EXAMPLE: You cannot play it at a concert or general gathering for which admission is charged, even if you don't see any of that money. That would be generating income for your agent indirectly. If you want to do a for-profit performance, write me for permission. No other rights are granted to you. In particular: * You have no mechanical rights. E.g. you can't play it on the radio or use it as film music or as background music in a play. * You do not have my permission to make any reproduction, transcription or derivation of this composition in any form or by any method or for any purpose other than number one (1) above. * If you do anything covered in numbers 1 and 2 above, that signifies that you agreed to everything you read here. If you want to do anything not covered in items 1 or 2 above, or anything else mentioned here, you must contact me first. If you like these pieces, and think I should write more like them, the most effective encouragement will be to send me a $10 contribution at the address shown above. Yours, George Bogatko - gbogatko@nile.intac.com
