Player-Care now accepts payment for all purchases using either DiscoverŽ, VISAŽ or MastercardŽ credit cards. However, I handle every single transaction manually. Nothing is "automated". If you elect to pay for your order using a credit card, there are two things you need to know. First, you will receive the same discount rates as those who pay by check or money order. Second, if you feel uncomfortable using the Secure Order Form, your credit card number and expiration date must be transmitted via the phone. Here's how it works. Once you've placed your order via any of the Order Forms, and indicated that you wish to pay by credit card (by selecting 'Credit Card Order' in the 'Payment' drop-down menu), I will generate a 'Verify and Reply' E-nvoiceŽ. In that document you will be given my toll-free '800' number, a breakdown of the order, the estimated shipping costs, and the total. Next, call me to transmit your credit card number. If I happen to be out, please leave the information on my answering machine or leave a message and I'll call you. Today we were notified by our Merchant Bank that MastercardŽ is now charging 3.45% to process a credit card charge. Obviously, VISAŽ must be getting the lion's share of all credit card business, and therefore, MastercardŽ must increase their processing fees in order to stay in business. As a company that works on a profit margin of less than 15% to begin with, increasing the processing fee from 2.35% to 3.45% is seen as a significant increase. Therefore, we prefer, and would greatly appreciate it if you, our loyal customers, use your VISAŽ card instead of your MastercardŽ. Also, Discover has increased their rate to 2.65%.
